If something concerning happened with one of your clients tomorrow, would your private practice actually be ready?

Not you. You already know how to sit with someone who’s struggling and ask about suicidal thoughts. I mean the practice around you.

In an organisation, the infrastructure comes with the job: a risk policy, a duty system, a safeguarding lead, a team down the corridor. In private practice, most of that quietly disappears. Unless we deliberately rebuild it, it simply isn’t there at 5.30pm on a Friday when you’re on your own.

So today I’m opening bookings for something brand new.

RISK MANAGEMENT IN PRIVATE PRACTICE

A two-part live training

Most risk training assumes there’s a service around you. This one starts from the reality that there isn’t.

WORKSHOP ONE: Is your private practice ready for risk?

Tuesday 3 November, 4 pm | 90 minutes | Live online

You’ll stop working out your response in the middle of a crisis, because you’ll already have a plan. You’ll leave with:

✓ Your scope, in writing. Who your practice can safely support, and when someone needs more than one therapist can offer.

✓ One clear pathway from first enquiry to final session, so you’re never starting from scratch when a concern comes up.

✓ Boundaries for your consultation calls, including exactly what to do if serious risk is disclosed before someone is even your client.

✓ Your “who would I call” list, built in the session. Supervisor, backup, safeguarding, crisis pathway. Named, not “I’d look it up.”

✓ A plan for when things change: when to consult, when to involve others, and how to refer, hand over or end safely.

✓ Your Private Practice Risk Audit. See what’s already in place, spot the gaps and choose your priorities. Still setting up? It becomes your build list.

WORKSHOP TWO: A collaborative peer discussion

Tuesday 10 November, 4 pm | 90 minutes | Live online

This is where the framework comes to life. We’ll work through anonymised scenarios together: what else you’d want to know, what you could reasonably hold, what would make you reconsider, and what you’d take to supervision. There’s no single “right” answer, just experienced clinicians slowing the decision down together, so you leave more confident in your own.

YOU’LL RECEIVE

• Both live workshops, plus recordings for 3 months

• The Private Practice Risk Audit

• Editable templates and supporting resources

• Bonus: Consultation Call Risk Script. What to say when risk comes up on a free call.

• Bonus: Referral/Escalation Flowchart. When to continue, when to involve others, and how to hand over safely.

• A CPD certificate for each session you attend

EARLY BIRD: £97 until Tuesday 20 October

That’s about the cost of one client session. After that it’s £147 (or 2 payments of £73.50).

YES, I WANT MY PRACTICE RISK-READY → Book my place

I’ve worked in mental health for thirty years and in private practice for fifteen. Until I put a clear framework in place, risk felt like something I reacted to. Now I have a plan that's current, considered, and in the best interests of my clients and me.

That’s what I want for you. And because this is the very first time I’m running this training, I’d love you to be in the room for it.
