I love a new business quarter; it’s a time to gather my thoughts about what I’m doing and where I’m going and what I want to focus on, like starting a new notebook or the start of a New Year, (which will be here before we know it btw).

Running a successful private practice requires more than just providing excellent clinical care. It’s also about managing your practice’s day-to-day operations, business and marketing strategy, finances and administration, etc.

The better the planning, the better the business. Just like a course of therapy is improved by the quality of the assessment and the creation of a treatment plan, private practice is improved by the foundations of its plan, which begins with a clear business strategy.

It’s easy to get caught up in working too much on your business and not enough on developing it.

Here are some of the reasons I return to quarterly planning

✨ Focus without overwhelm – Quarterly milestones make big goals achievable.

✨ Keeps you working on the business, not just in it – Space to step out of the therapy room and into strategy.

✨ Agility in a changing landscape – Pivot and adapt as the year unfolds.

✨ Built-in reflection – Review, adjust, and stay aligned with your values.

✨ Sharper financial management – Stay profitable and intentional with money.

✨ Planned, consistent marketing – Keep your message visible and steady.

👉 Paid members can get access to a downloadable template to plan October–December and are invited to a live co-working session later today at 1 pm, Tuesday, 30th September. You can join us to work on whatever you need to get done and I’ll be doing my planning so you can join me if you want some accountability.
