Therapists’ Corner Member Shout-Outs
Members of Therapists Corner are sharing what they’re up to in private practice, their niches, offers and specialist interests. Think of it as a growing, trusted pool of therapists you can follow, get to know, and keep in mind for referrals, specialist supervision or signposting clients on.
Even if you’re not (yet!) a paid member, my hope is that, over time, these shout-outs become a genuinely valuable resource. Look out for the monthly post to add your comments to.
Member Shout-outs
Dr Sarah Emmerson has joined us as a new member, welcome! Her Substack is About Becoming Women, and she’s also a co-founder of a private practice in London called Talking Women, talkingwomen.co.uk - they specialise in women's mental health.
We’re also welcoming Annie Macdonald as a new member. She shared the following: I’m delighted to become a member of Therapists Corner. My website is: anniemacdonaldtherapy.co.uk And I do have some availability at the moment.
Justyna O’Connell submitted her Member Profile -
Jen has posted her first Substack post:
I’m running two workshops in July
The first one is - Is Private Practice Right For You?
Thinking about private practice but not sure if it’s actually right for you?
I’m running a small live session on 20th July at 6 pm to help therapists answer that properly — not from panic, comparison, burnout, or “everyone else seems to be doing it” energy.
We’ll use my CLEAR framework:
Capacity
Lifestyle
Earnings
Autonomy
Readiness
So you can get a much clearer sense of whether private practice is:
Yes — the right next step
Not yet — but possible with the right foundations
No — or not in the way you imagined
I’m keeping it small on purpose: 25 therapists only.
This is for people who want the live conversation, not another webinar to half-watch while multitasking.
It’s £9.97 for the hour.
Once it’s full, it’s full.
The second is designed to follow on from the first - The Five Things to Understand Before you Take the Leap into Private Practice
27th July 6 pm. Save your place
Most of us were never taught the business side of therapy. So when we start thinking about private practice, it can feel exciting, overwhelming and slightly terrifying all at once. What do you need in place?
How do you know if it’s financially viable?
Where do clients actually come from?
What needs to be sorted ethically, professionally and practically before you begin?
This 90-minute session gives you the start of the roadmap
Got Something to Share?
If you want to get involved, you can. Each month, I’ll be doing a feature post that celebrates what you’re doing — whether that’s:
✨ Launching a new website or platform
✨ Opening spaces for therapy or supervision, celebrate being fully booked or a business goal achieved
✨ Running a workshop or course, sharing a new blog post,
✨ Starting a Substack, A general brilliant achievement you want a clap for because you’re worth it
✨ Offering something new in your practice
✨ Or even just wanting to share your Instagram or LinkedIn account so people can follow and support you
Here’s how it will work:
Pop your link or update in the comments of the shout-out post — tell me what you’re doing and what you’d like to share.
Each month, I’ll post a reminder thread.
I’ll then gather everything and create a “What Our Members Are Up To, Shout-Out” post, which will go out to our full email list of almost 4,000 therapists.
