I know, it’s January, your mince pies haven’t even settled and here I am saying the word tax.

If you’re anything like me, you might think you can’t but honestly you can do tax… you just don’t want it living rent-free in your head.

Your private practice is a business and the quickest way to ruin your “fresh start” energy is getting ambushed by a deadline you knew was coming… but didn’t want to look at.

Tax is a series of small steps, not a long shame spiral.

So this is your calm, therapist-friendly reminder:

  • The key dates that matter

  • What to put in your diary for the rest of 2026

  • How to avoid the most common money wobble I see in private practice (the “why is my tax bill SO BIG?!” moment)

(Quick note: this is general UK info, not individual tax advice. If you’re unsure, ask an accountant — it’ll save you money and stress.)
