If you’re a therapist in private practice in the UK, you’ve likely heard rumblings about Making Tax Digital (MTD) — but what does it actually mean, and what do you need to do?

Gemma unfortunately had to cancel her call today and sends her apologies, we are looking into rearranging but she has sent over a free guide download your copy below.

First, let’s break down MTD in simple terms, explain what’s changing, and help you take the first steps toward getting your private practice ready.

💻 What is Making Tax Digital (MTD)?

Making Tax Digital is HMRC’s plan to modernise the UK tax system by requiring self-employed people to:

  • Keep digital records of income and expenses

  • Use MTD-compatible software

  • Submit tax updates quarterly instead of one annual return

The aim? To reduce errors, increase efficiency, and eventually replace paper-based tax reporting entirely.
