Have You Got Your Clinical Will in Place?

The BABCP Requirements
“As of 1 September 2023, all our Accredited and Registered members will be required to ensure that an arrangement is in place to cover clinical practice in the event they are suddenly unable to continue to practice. This means that either your employer has appropriate arrangements and contingency plans in place or that you have a formal Clinical Will document that provides instructions to an executor if you can no longer continue practising."
The BABCP recognises the importance of having a Clinical Will as an essential component of professional practice and encourages its members to develop one. By adopting this standard, the BABCP is demonstrating its commitment to upholding high standards of professional conduct and ensuring that clients receive the best possible care, even in unforeseen circumstances.
They also plan to undertake audits to ensure therapists in private practice have a Cinical Will in place; they require evidence that your clinical Will is in place and you have a process that it is being reviewed and maintained; we have put together an audit document for you so you can stay organised.
