As therapists, we are often more comfortable navigating the complex landscape of the human psyche than discussing the intricate details of financial matters. This comes as no surprise, considering the helping nature of our profession often places money matters in the background. The stigma associated with discussing financial matters in the therapy profession can sometimes make us shy away from openly discussing how we structure and manage our income.
However, I've chosen to step away from this tradition. In an effort to provide guidance and transparency to fellow therapists, I am delving into the often uncharted waters of financial management in private therapy practice. Though I have substantial expenses in running my practice, I believe sharing my financial journey could benefit many. I may choose to simplify certain aspects of my financial structure in the future, but for now, I will offer an inside look at how I make my income each month.

I don’t think I’m alone in finding 1-1 work demanding. As much as I love the work, it requires a lot of energy and for me to be at my best all the time. I’ve had some health things crop up over the years, making me decide that I have to have a diversified income for financial security.
