I’ve spent some time going back through my original resource, checking what has changed and researching current referral routes for therapists in private practice.
I’m a big advocate for therapists building a practice with a strong base of self-funded clients, because that usually gives you more control over your fees, your client work and how you run your business.
But I also know that some of you want a wider pool of referrals, particularly while you’re building your caseload or if you want to diversify where your clients come from.
Referral companies, insurers, EAPs, and clinical networks can help with that.
I’ve also included what I think you should check before agreeing to work with any referral company, including rates, unpaid admin, cancellation terms, payment timescales, and GDPR responsibilities.
