August has a reputation problem in private practice

Everyone treats it like a dead month: client numbers dip, DMs go quiet, and it’s tempting to take your foot off the marketing pedal entirely. Diary’s a bit emptier, so why bother posting?

Here’s what I’ve noticed after years of watching this pattern: August isn’t quiet; it’s slow-moving. There’s a difference. People aren’t booking as fast, but they’re thinking more.

No school run, fewer meetings, more evenings with nothing much on and more time to actually sit with the thing they’ve been putting off. The scrolling doesn’t stop in August. If anything, it picks up.

Which means the therapists who keep showing up this month, gently and consistently, are the ones who fill their September diary. Not through urgency or hard selling, just by being visible while everyone else has gone quiet.

So I’ve written you a full month of content for August.

Four posts a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday,

17 posts total, built around a simple rhythm: visibility, recognition, trust, education.

Nothing pushy, nothing that reads like an ad, just steady, useful content that keeps you in front of the people who’ll be ready to book once September lands.

Copy it, adapt it to your niche, tweak the tone until it sounds like you, and post it with confidence.

If you use it this month, come back and tell me what landed, what got saved, what got DMs, what turned into an actual enquiry. I’m always curious.

If you’d like this as a regular feature, I’d love to know that too. Its based on the work I do with my content manager, Elin. We’ve adapted the most popular social media posts that are currently working well.

Everything’s below the paywall — let’s keep the diary moving through the quiet month. 👇
