You might have already heard the whispers about consistent £5K months in private practice?
For a long time, I thought that kind of income was completely out of reach. I didn’t know anyone talking about money and I certainly didn’t have a clear model to follow.

🤔 Why It Feels Out of Reach for Us
You might already know this on paper, but still feel like it’s a long way off. That’s understandable.
Here’s why many therapists feel stuck when it comes to income growth:
Marketing can feel grubby for therapists and where to start?
You undercharge because pricing feels uncomfortable.
You’re not consistently visible to the clients you love to work with
You’ve never had a roadmap — you’re making it up as you go
Sound familiar? You're not alone — and you're not doing anything wrong.
It took me time and a fair bit of trial and error to figure out how to run a sustainable business that could consistently generate income and feel aligned with my values. Now, I want to share what I’ve learned with you.
If you’re still wondering:
“Is that really achievable?”
Or even more honestly, “Could that be possible for me?”
The short answer? Yes. It is.
But it doesn’t happen by accident. See how below …….

💡It all Starts with the Numbers
The key is to start with the end in mind and then work backwards
Start with the end in mind — and work backwards.
Let’s say your average session fee is £100.
To earn £5,000 in a month, you’d need to deliver approximately 50 sessions. That’s around 12–13 sessions a week over four weeks.
Depending on your availability and the way you like to work, that might be entirely manageable — or it might feel like too much. That’s okay. There are other ways to get there.
Many therapists reach consistent £5K months by blending income from:
✔ Individual therapy sessions
✔ Therapy packages or intensives
✔ Group work or workshops
✔ Supervision or consulting
✔ Digital products or writing
✔ Substack, podcasting or teaching
The key is this: a £5K month doesn’t have to look like someone else’s £5K month. It depends on your goals, your model, and your values.

📝 Worksheet:
Map Out Your £5K Month
Want to start visualising what a £5K month could look like for you? Use this simple exercise:
1. What’s your average session fee?
Example: £100
2. How many 1:1 sessions per week feels manageable for you?
Example: 10 per week × 4 weeks = 40 sessions = £4,000
3. What other services or offers could you include?
– Supervision: 2 sessions per month at £80 = £160
– Workshop or group: £300
– Digital product sales: £540
– Substack paid subscribers: £50
Total: £5,050
4. What would need to change for that to feel realistic?
– Raise your session fee?
– Introduce a new offer?
– Market your services more consistently?
5. What’s one small step you could take this week to move closer?
